Pick of the Week: Spider-Man: The '67 Collection
Just in time for the release of Spider-Man 2, we get a 6 disk collection of all the original Spider-man animated series. All 52 episodes which originally aired from 1967-1970 are now available again. I've seen some screen shot comparisons of the DVD to some previously available VHS editions, and the difference is night and day. Each of the episodes has been restored to look better than they did when they were new. I have heard that the quality is on par with what we saw in the Looney Tunes collection from last year. I am looking forward to seeing the whole series for the first time, I have only seen a handful of episodes thus far. They obviously don't stand up to the series from '90's, but come on, it's Spider-Man and thus inherently cool.

Overall this week is rather thin. There aren't any titles that really cry out, must own. Also coming out this week:
Cold Mountain: the mediocre Civil War drama with Nicole Kidman and Jude Law.
Barbershop 2: Back in Business: The fun sequel with Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer.
Blazing Saddles: the 30th Anniversary edition.
Uncle Sam: Cheesy slasher flick from the '90's
South Park Season 4: The foul mouthed kids march on!
Wonder Woman Season 1: bullet proof bracelets and all.
Ninja Scroll: The Series: the third and final volume.
