New Film Releases.

We have a few films opening this week, one is a feel good film, another is a big action picture, a third is a crazy comedy, and then a documentary about birds. Let's jump right in, shall we?

Because of Winn-Dixie. I don't know about this one. It looks like it could fill the void of a good film for the family, but I am not terribly impressed with the trailers. It looks kind of smarmy, and I don't really care for the smiling dog. But who knows, maybe it will surprise?

Constantine. Keanu's first major starring film since finishing off the Matrix series. Based on the comic book Hellblazer, this looks like it could be pretty good. Giving us a battle between heaven and earth. Granted it's not a terribly original concept, but it looks like it could be a fun big action picture.

Son of the Mask. This looks absolutely terrible. I liked the original Mask, it had a manic energy all it's own, mainly due to star Jim Carrey, and the big screen debut of Cameron Diaz. This one brings Jamie Kennedy and Alan Cumming together in a fight over the magical mask, which also features a Wile E. Coyote inspired battle between a baby and the family dog. I can feel my IQ drop just watching the commercial.

The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill. Now here is an interesting looking film. Apparently, there is a flock of wild parrots living in San Francisco, and nobody knows where they came from. So somebody decided to study them and documented the study. It looks like a fun look at some birds that survive in places that they were not meant to be.

That's all! Enjoy your week at the silver screens!
