New Releases

A rather weak day for new theatrical releases. There are a total of two wide releases, each targeting a very different demographic. In addition to those we get a Japanese classic uncut in America for the first time.

Pooh's Heffalump Movie. Winnie the Pooh is back on the big screen. Clearly not aimed at me, but it looks like it could be a good film for the younger set, a demographic which does not get that many movies for them. Hopefully this will be quality for them.

Hitch. Will Smith as the urban legend date doctor. This appears to be a pretty straight forward comedy, but it also looks pretty funny. It plays up that saying of "Those who can't do, teach." Features a supporting role played by the King of Queens Kevin James. I don't expect much out of this movie, but it looks like it could be fun.

And finally:
Godzilla. Uncut, Uncensored, and Undubbed! For the first time the original, true version of Godzilla is being screened in America. I have never seen the real film, only the chopped and edited version featuring Raymond Burr (as Steve Martin). I eagerly looking forward to seeing this classic, the way it was meant to be seen.
