Thanks to all who have voted. Not too much love for the animated films, eh? Personally I really liked the animated Lord of the Rings, I would have loved to have seen it get finished. Granted, it was not completely successful, but it was still effectively created a surreal atmosphere. I know I have seen the Hobbit, but I don't remember much of it, and I don't think I have ever seen Return of the King animated.

As for the massive Peter Jackson directed trilogy, I feel they are (rather it, as I think of it as a single film) an incredible epic that will stand the test of time as classic films. This is where my favorite lies, specifically The Two Towers. The action and steps forward taken here are my reasons, I felt it was put together the best. The Fellowship of the Ring took a little while to get going, and I really did not like how Return of the King ended, the editing just took me right of it. They are all wonderful movies and play great together, but if I had to choose one, it would easily by The Two Towers.

Now if I could only find the time to marathon all three of the extended editions...
