The film follows a man on a motorcycle who uses takeout menus to decide which house to break into. He then proceeds to fix things in the house, and generally do what you are not expecting him to. Then he breaks into a house that is still occupied. I don't really want to say too much more, this is a film to be experienced.
It was directed by Kim Ki-Duk, a film maker who is confident in the intelligence of the audience. A director who is not afraid to take chances and experiment with the medium. Do yourself a favor and see this film.
Also coming this week:
- The Bela Lugosi Collection (Murders in the Rue Morgue, The Black Cat, The Raven, The Invisible Ray, Black Friday). A collection of old Bela films together in one package.
- Crash. One of the best films of 2004 and potential Oscar contender. Lots of characters and lots of stories fuel this racially and emotionally charged film.
- Dead and Breakfast. I have heard good things about this low budget, horror-comedy. Looking forward to spinning it up.
- The Deer Hunter: Legacy Series. I am ashamed to admit that I have never seen this.
- Flash Gordon Collection. A collection of old Flash serials.
- Fraggle Rock: Complete First Season. I watched one of the single disk releases and am sad to say that this series hasn't aged very well.
- Hammer Horror Series (Brides of Dracula, Curse of the Werewolf, Phantom of the Opera, Paranoiac, Kiss of the Vampire, Nightmare, Night Creatures, Evil of Frankenstein). A collection of some of the lesser Hammer titles in a nice little package. This should be good.
- Hardcore Homecoming. The other ECW reunion show. I have heard it was pretty good.
- Lost: The Complete First Season. An amazing show, one of the best in some time. Definitely worth checking out before the second season kicks off.
- To Kill a Mockingbird: Legacy Series. It has been years since I've seen this. Looking forward to seeing it again.
- Toy Story: 10th Anniversary Edition. An improved transfer over the original single disk release, with some new extras. A landmark in computer animation.
That's it for this week!
