Fangoria Presents Land of the Dead, Uncut! One Night Only!

I went to the movies earlier this evening, and prior to the start of the feature, prior even to the start of the trailers, there was a trailer for Land of the Dead. At first I thought it was just a commercial for the impending DVD release, but then came the Fangoria logo.

It turns out that Fangoria is sponsoring a one night, one show theatrical screening of the director's cut of Land of the Dead, on October 17th at 8:00pm . Unfortunately it is only in select cities, none of which are convenient to me. I am hoping, however, that one of them may be near one of you, my faithful readers, so click here to see if you are one of the lucky ones!

George Romero's latest zombie offering didn't make much of a splash at the box office, taking in just under $20.5 million. I am glad to say one ticket's worth of dollars was mine. I saw it and I liked it, and I look forward to seeing it again, in particular, I look forward to the unrated cut.

I think that this is a pretty cool idea, I just wish it was a little more widespread, or perhaps they just shouldn't advertise in places that aren't going to be showing it.

Still, I recommend anyone who has the opportunity to, go and see it. It is a good zombie film, done the way only Romero can. There is something special about a Romero zombie, others have tried to replicate it, but none have been able to duplicate it.

So, if anyone has the opportunity to see this, and does, please check back in and let us know how it was. In the meantime, the rest of us have the DVD release to look forward to on 10/18.

So, go, go check if you can go. Go to Fangoria.com.
