Bangkok Dangerous - Poster, Still, Trailer
It was some years ago that I saw a wild film from Thailand called Bangkok Dangerous, it was written and directed by an up and coming brother duo, Danny and Oxide Pang. I do not remember many details, but I do remember liking it. Now we are faced with another take on the tale, the Hollywood remake. I guess we can be thankful it isn't another horror remake, maybe? I cannot see this sticking to closely to the original, as the hitman lead character in the 1999 film was a deaf mute, and I cannot see Nicolas Cage playing a mute in an action film. Anyway, it is the story of a hitman in Bangkok who falls for a local woman. The poster is a rather bland looking headshot, but the trailer seems promising. Perhaps the fact that this is being directed by the original directors is a good thing? This, despite their misstep of The Messengers.
