To be honest, I never thought it would actually happen. As you know, I am not against remakes, but there are some movies that would appear to be more difficult than others. I figured Oldboy was one of those movies. Then word got out that it was up to be remade. All right, I'm game. Now, the trailer has arrived and I have to say it looks pretty darn good. I am not sure it will be able to top the Park Chan Wook classic.
The remake was directed by Spike Lee from a screenplay by Mark Protosevich. The cast includes such familiar faces as Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sharlto Copley.
The movie follows Josh Brolin who has been kidnapped by an unknown someone and mysteriously released twenty years later. He then has two questions to answer, why he was imprisoned and why was he released?
This trailer looks pretty intense and am willing to give it a shot when it arrives in theaters this October.
