So, I get home from taking in an afternoon movie (surprise, surprise) and what news do I see to welcome me home? This little nugget courtesy of Twitch. Now, you don't want to click the link, it tells us that Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian, and Cecep Arif Rahman have all been cast in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. I am sure there are a lot of you who have no idea who they are. Believe me when I tell you, this is a big deal and is beyond awesome.I am sure there are a few of you who may recognize one of those names and you probably have a big smile on your face. For the uninitiated, Iko Uwais starred in The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2. Yayan Ruhian was Mad Dog in the first film and Rahman was the guy in that climactic fight in the sequel. These guys are trained fighters, deadly, fast, and highly skilled. The fact that these guys are in the new Stars Wars could mean that we are in for some awesome fights.
There is no word yet on what roles they will be playing, good guys, bad guys, live or die. It don't matter, I want to see these guys out there swinging lightsabers around. Seriously, these guys are awesome and should lead to some great fight scenes!
